5-Star Trike Masters Courses

The Trike Masters Courses are open to Qualified Flex-wing pilots who wish to improve their trike flying skills and knowledge. It consists of 5 seperate sections, each comprising Theory and Practical.

Completion of each section awards the candidate with one star towards a 5-star Trike Masters Rating.

La Mercy Flight Park is ideally situated to offer a range of advanced flying courses to qualified pilots.

Each course runs over a period of 3 full days. Accommodation is available at the airfield. The cost varies, depending on flying hours and whether or not you bring your own aircraft.

Star 1 - Know your Aircraft

• Rigging and de-rigging,
• Packing and transporting on a trailer
• Test-flying,
• Thorough pre-flight inpections, weak areas for special attention,
• Basic engine, propellor and airframe maintenance.

Star 2 - More about flying

• Flying in strong wind,
• Flying in turbulence,
• Thermaling
• Ridge soaring

Star 3 - More about landing

• Soft field landing
• Short field landing
• Beach landing
• Spot landing
• Emergency landing
• Precautionary landing
