Instructors at La Mercy Flight Park are chosen for two reasons. One: an absolute passion for flying which extends far past the hour or so spent in the air with a student. Two: An ability to pass this passion for flying and ability to a student.

Chief flying instructor, David Daniel, started flying gliders as a teenager in 1974, has had a Private Pilot's Licence since 1981 and is also a Hang Glider Pilot. He has over a thousand hours of Microlight instruction, and is one of only 2 pilots SAHPA rated to do aerotowing of Hang Gliders. He oversees all the maintenence on the chool aircraft, is a MISASA approved aircraft inspector and also imports and assembles the Skyranger aircraft (a 3-axis Microlight designed in France)

Now that he has also had his first tandem free-fall, he will probably add a skydive licence to all this soon!
