The Training course Microlight Pilot's LicenceTraining courses are booked and planned on an individual basis. By the end of the MPL course the student knows and is comfortable with how to fly into controlled airspace, how to execute a safe emergency landing, how to rig and de-rig an aircraft, and how to do basic aircraft maintenance. La Mercy Flight Park specializes in offering international students full time training and assist in conveting the South African Microlight Pilots Licence once you are in your home country. |

We arange your Student Pilots Licence for you and do the Radio Operators Licence as well as all other theory lessons at the flight park. The student will be able to plan cross-country flights anywhere in South Africa, will be able to judge weather conditions accurately, and be able to fly in and out of almost any airfield legally and safely. Requirements If you are medically fit, over the age of 17 and have a little common sense, you can learn to fly. It takes the average student 30 hours (28 lessons) to complete the course on Trikes (flexi-wing Microlights) and about 35 hours (32 lessons) to complete the course on conventional fixed wing microlights.. This includes all dual instruction, some advanced training, a dual and solo cross-country flight and a total of 15 hours solo flying.

Lectures During the course students are required to complete a Radio Operators Certificate and write a number of theory exams. The subjects include Principles of Flight, Engines, Airframes and Instruments, Navigation, Air Law, Aviation Meteorology and Human Performance Limitations. La Mercy Flight Park is one of the only schools in the country to present all students with full aviation lectures. These are included in the training costs, and relate to the level of training the student has reached. Most lectures are on a one-on-one level, individually structured to the student's needs. |

Validations La Mercy Flight Park offers validations to any foreign student who wishes to have his licence validated in South Africa. Validations are valid for 12 months, and are realatively easy to complete. All that is required is a flight test and a South African Air Law exam. We offer lectures in South African Air Law to international pilots. |
